Zion.Red.Bryce. Escalante

Our chosen destination of Bryce Canyon took us across 100 miles of desert & then across Zion Canyon National Park which in a perfect world we would have stayed & explored for a couple of days. Unfortunately we had already booked a night in Bryce Canyon so had to make do with the exhilarating drive & superb scenery in every shade from beige through orange to red  as we wended our wayup hill & down dale  through the canyon. This experience was repeated small scale when we drove through Red Canyon a few miles down the road towards Bryce. Bryce itself was absolutely superb and a particularly unique experience visually which the photos do not do anything like justicve to. After one night in the park we organised a further two at the Country Cowboy Inn in Escalante to enable us to further explore Bryce ( great walks round the rim with amazing views) . We also revisited Red Canyon (short hike) as well as visiting the Kodachrome Basin (Escalante National  Park for a shortstroll through what was just like an old western movie set - without the guns & horses.  Next stop Monument Valley
