A 30 minute drive brought us to Marlborough and our motel (Two Tree Lodge ) new & beautifully presented which has not always been the case. Unfortunately our timing delay on the car meant we were too late for a wine tour and our research had to be conducted via supermarket & restaurants as it was sunday & the following day was a bank holiday (Waitangi Day) - so much Sauvignon Blanc and so little time nevertheless we applied ourselve4s to the task & did see the home of Mount Riley. This has been supplanted in my taste by Dogpoint which if it is available in the UK I strongly recommend.
